Smallville: Lois Returns

This was the episode I'd been waiting for, well, for a very long time. The Lana/Clark torture was brutal. But Lois finally returned and of course, Clark was a complete idiot. What else is new?

Lois has been gone for a month, you promise to pick her up, then you're 3 hours late. Not a good way to make an impression, Clark. I realize you had to save some people, but you have superspeedy powers. Surely you could have done it a little faster.

Tori Spelling is back as Linda Lake. Does she scare you as much as she scares me? Trying to take away Lois Lane's fame by striking a deal with the Red-Blue Blur. Sorry, but it's not in the cards for you. Lois Lane has exclusive rights to this deal.

Well, I suppose this is one way to tell Lois your secret, Clark. When words fail, actions speak much louder. I think she gets it--you can put her down now.

I love how Lois is fixated on the seeing-through-things power. Like covering your chest is going to make a difference. His powers are superstrong. Plus, he's Smallville--total Boy Scout.

Besides, he's already seen it all. Remember the bathroom encounter? If Clark had a sharper tongue, he would have brought that up. Anyway, I love how he's like, Lois, it's not like that, I have to focus. LOL!

This is the best billboard they could come up with for the Daily Planet? Really?! They needed to get some hotshot graphics intern on this, because this is just sad.

And this is why superheroes keep their identities a secret. The fans and paparazzi will never leave you alone. I love how is red stands out in the sea of people, because no one in Metropolis wears colors.

Awkward. Chloe, give up trying to be just friends with this guy. Don't you know? He wants to kill your best friend.

Of course, Tori...I mean Linda needs to get the last word. Funny how the press and people can turn on you in an instant.

Getting shot numerous times in the Kent house is probably not a good thing. Luckily, he can make it good as new in a matter of seconds. I guess coming out, in this case, wasn't such a good idea, Clark.

And the hits keep on coming. Linda Lake's latest smear campaign. Hello! Oliver Queen killed Lex. Duh.

You can tell Lois just wants to kick the little 90210er's butt. Do it, Lois. You can take her. Hands down.
And Clark saves Lois once again. And of course you'd bring her back to the barn. Isn't that where you take all your ladies?

This, by far, was my favorite scene of the night: "Some people spend their entire lives looking for a way to stand out, to be a person anybody would call special. When you first told me who you were my thought was anyone but Clark. And not because of the alien thing, I've known enough guys to know that you can be born on Terra Firma and be light years from normal. How could someone with X-ray vision be so blind? I've been down the hero road before, and every time I made a giant U-turn. This, this was different. And when you hit your reset button, you're not going to tell me your secret are you? That's OK. Why should I think I'm special? Clark, I understand."

"Lois, you don't understand. It's because you are special." Crap, Clark, crap! OK, it's obvious to everyone, including you, that Lois has a thing for you. I understand you're still trying to get over Lana--that the whole break-up is still fresh, but come on...don't lead her on! Don't have feelings for her yet? Fine. Scared? Fine. But don't give the poor girl that little bit of hope. Lucky I know you two are destined to be together or I really would have thrown something at the TV.

Meanwhile, Davis and Chloe are having their own heart-to-heart, but something tells me it's not going too well.

Yes, Chloe, run, run, run. Remember the last time you had a meeting with Doomsday? That didn't go over so well. Clark almost had to kill you. So I suggest you run faster.

Yeah, Linda Lake is always one step ahead. Hasn't this town run out of kryptonite yet?

This is why Lois is a much better match for Clark. She kicks ass, even without the special witch spells or the alien suit. She's perfectly capable of saving Clark. See? Perfect.

And we're back to where we started. Unfortunately, you put that ring on before Lois could warn you about Davis wanting to kill your Kryptonian ass.

And Linda Lake is silenced. Don't we all wish we could do this? ;)

Clark gets his second chance. I love how he's the little errand boy running after Lois.

Now things are getting awkward. I was wondering if they were ever going to mention the almost kiss. Unfortunately for us, our supercouple just wants to avoid the whole thing...at least for now. Fine!

I've always loved Chloe and Clark's relationship. Too bad she never existed in the original comics. You may want to hear Chloe out, Clark. A secret identity isn't such a bad idea. Although, I'd like to make one suggestion. You might want to start wearing glasses.

I knew Davis was good for something. No more Linda Lake. Yay! Sadly, Doomsday is probably the bigger threat.

How could you just leave her there, Clark? Hurry up and get over Lana quick. Lois deserves to feel special.

Overall, not a bad episode. Was it everything I'd hoped it would be? Not quite. I know we can't just throw Lois and Clark together, but those longing looks are killing me. I am glad we got a glimpse of what it would be like if the world knew the truth. I have to say the eps with Lois are much better than the ones without. I hope they recognize this and have her appear in every episode of season 9.

ER: 6 Degrees of Separation

Tonight was the highly anticipated return of Dr. Benton, Dr. Ross and Nurse Hathaway. Although I would have liked them all in one room, it was interesting how they chose to connect everyone together. And yes, I did squee when I saw them appear on the screen. I'm such an ER fangirl. At work we found out who did Dr. Neela's real-life wedding invitations and I so wanted to send him an email asking him what she's like in real life.

Anyway...the reunion. Well, sort of reunion. So apparently, the heart Neela and Sam went to retrieve was actually in Seattle. No, not Seattle Grace. The Seattle hospital where Doug and Carol work. While they were there they picked up Carter's kidney too.

And look who we have here. Just like the good old days. It's amazing, they still look the same. LOL! I thought it was interesting that Carol didn't ask Neela or Sam any questions when she found out they were from County.

But Dr. Ross did. Here he is getting ready to play the 6 degrees of separation game.

Sadly, the girls had no clue who he was talking about. He didn't know anyone they mentioned either. The one thing I couldn't understand was why neither one of them mentioned Carter. I think he's pretty much the only connection between the original ER crew and the new kids. Well, except for the nurses. Doug probably didn't ask because he probably thought Carter was still in Africa--but one of the girls could have mentioned he was back. Oh well...the way they did this ep was still cool.

Look who we have here. Dr. Benton, is that you? Loved that we found out he was still with Cleo and that Reese was 13 already. It's nice to see you made a nice life for yourself. He still had the cool as ice, stoic exterior, but with a more compassionate inside. It was like age and being a dad softened him a little.

Nice look Carter. A hospital gown and fuzzy socks. He so looks like the young intern Dr. Benton continually tortured. It was really nice to see them as friends. Brought a tear to my eye. LOL!

What do you mean the plane already left? I love how Neela was like, I have a heart in this cooler that needs to get to Chicago. You tell 'em, doc. Even funnier...the reggae plane they boarded.

This scene cracked me up. Carter thirsty and starving as Benton drinks his coffee and eats his peanut butter energy bar. Loved Benton's reaction when he found out Carter's wife was a "sister." That was great...and Carter knew he would totally react that way.

It was awesome how Benton looked after Carter in the OR. That transplant doc was a total ass. He could have killed Carter and I would have just lost it. After Pratt's sad death at the beginning of the season, I couldn't take it if another beloved character bit the dust. Good job, Benton!

And that's a wrap. Your efforts today saved two lives, one of which was your friend and you didn't even know it. Sigh...aren't they cute?

I realize there were other storylines here with Dr. Banfield, Simon and Tony, but I just couldn't help but be glued to the old-school guys. I missed them and it was so good to see them again.

Season 15 is almost over and the doors of the ER are closing soon. I can't help but feel sad at the end of each of these last eps. OMG...Neela leaves next week. I can't take it. This season was so good. I'm glad they're ending on a high note.

Monday Review

The only shows on my schedule yesterday were HIMYM, Chuck and Heroes. For the lord-knows-how-long week in a row, I skipped out on Heroes. They're still on my Tivo, but I probably won't watch them until the season's over. It's a shame, really. I loved it so much the first season. I even have a T-shirt that says, "Save the cheerleader, save the world." Sadly, the show has tanked since that first season. Too many characters, too many storylines all over the place, too many loose ends. They even made my favorite character, Hiro, annoying. So sad. But...I will watch the eps I have because if anything, I am a loyal viewer. I stay with shows until the very end.

Anyway, here's what I thought of the two shows I did manage to watch yesterday:

Chuck: This is one of those goofy shows you just have to love. This week we found Chuck competing with a superspy for Sarah's affections. Poor guy just looked like a big doofus the whole time. I love watching this show, but I wonder how much longer it can keep up the main storyline. Eventually they have to figure out how to get the Intersect out of Chuck's brain. Once that's done, then what? Every week the poor guy's life is always in danger, but it's just not feasible to keep this up for another season. The writers better figure out a new spin for this show or people might lose interest. Of course I won't because I need to find out what happens to Chuck and Sarah.

Although, I did find the Tron poster reveal interesting. Who knew Chuck had his own investigation going on behind that thing?

HIMYM: Not one of the best, but still entertaining. It was nice to see Laura Prepon again. I'm still pissed October Road didn't get picked up. Can't wait till the season two DVD comes out with the recently taped finale. Anyway, back to the show at hand. Marshall forgetting his pants wasn't really that funny. Watching Barney laugh his ass off was. When they told the story, I sort of felt like Robin. That was funny? I agree, the chimp with the two tuxedos was funnier. For some reason, I wasn't really interested in the Ted/Karen story, but we'll see how this pans out. Will he find a yellow umbrella at her place? Is she the mother of her children?

In HIMYM real-life news, I think it's cute that Aly H. and Cobie S. are both pregnant. Their little babies can have playdates on set!

Sunday Bonus: Desperate Housewives was kind of blah, but my favorite scene was the dinner at Bree's. Tom and Lynette fighting over the same job was funny. At first I thought she was only doing it to light a fire under him, but then we saw that she really was after it.

Brothers & Sisters was full of crazy drama. Tommy was such an ass, Holly just needs to give up revenge on the Walkers, and Rebecca better watch it or she might be getting involved with another Walker boy. You can totally tell Ryan is staying just for her. I see him and Justin and fists flying. Should be good.

Tonight was a slow night. Reaper was the only show on my list for tonight, but I chose to watch Ocean's 11 instead. I've had a hard time sticking with Reaper, so I don't know if I'll ever get around to watching the ep. I think I may try to watch Trust Me after Ocean's. I wanna like that show because I loved Eric McCormack on Will & Grace and Thomas Cavanaugh on Ed, but I never can seem to remember when it's on. Eh, we'll see if I can hang with this show.

Friday Night Lights: We'll Miss You #6

It's a little ridiculous how much I look forward to watching this show. Good thing I don't have a life, so I can watch it when it airs on Friday nights.

I love it when Saracen gets all riled up. You tell 'em QB...I mean wide receiver. I admit, I couldn't resist the spoilers and found out about his play to become a receiver. I get it. Makes sense. Hopefully Coach sees his potential.

The boys are in NYC! Woohoo! When I saw this scene, my first thought was, "Why didn't I see them filming?" This is right in front of Port Authority. I walk by these stores 2X every day. How did I miss them? Did they film on the weekend? I've been to the WAMU behind Riggins' head.

The minute I walk out of the bus station, this is what I see. Don't know how many times I've read that sign. I still don't know how I missed them.

Really, Street? You thought waltzing into his office with a new suit and a smile and inspirational speech was going to get you a job at an NYC sports agency? Well, I suppose you are young and from a small town--you didn't know better. I'll let it slide.

Gotta love the fact that Riggins is always trying to cheer up his best bud. I guess that's the least he owes him for stealing his girl. I kid! Gypsy? Really Riggs? Since when do you like Broadway shows? But kudos to you for coming up with a pretty decent idea. Maybe you aren't a dumb jock after all. Ummm...just one thing. Why is Riggins in NYC and not at football practice? Isn't Coach pissed and shouting,"Where's Riggins?" I don't think he even acknowledged he was gone. I mean, playoffs are right around the corner. He really needs to get his cute little butt back to Dillon.

Saracen and Julie are back! Yay! I missed you two. I like that they're not all mushy and making out every minute of the day even though they've already taken their relationship to the next level. It's cute, but maybe they don't have to stand so far apart. A little hand holding is OK. I love them. Have I mentioned that lately?

Oh Tyra. I guess you'll have to learn the hard way. Did you really think that cowboy of yours was going to stay faithful while he was on the road for six months? And why did you think it was a good idea to choose the phone call over the interview? Don't make me hate you for being that girl.

Listent to the Coach...you cannot afford the house. I really like how they fight like a married couple. These two make it feel so realistic that sometimes I forget they aren't actually married. This was perfect casting.

Street sounds like Jerry Maguire--did they steal a page from the script? He seriously needs to be a coach or some sort of inspirational speaker. His football buddies must have tons of respect for him to let him influence them like that. After one speech, Wendell is ready to change his mind about a big decision because his former QB told him to? The force is strong in this man they call #6.

I really loved this scene. First, the tension between the Coach and Tami was pretty funny. Then when Julie brought up Matt being a wide receiver--well, that was just great. I love how Tami wanted nothing to do with this conversation.

Look at their reactions--almost identical. It was great when Saracen got into it and he and Julie started tag teaming the coach. It kind of reminded me of last week when the Taylors were talking to JeMarcus' parents.

This was nice. Saracen's like the son Coach never had. I have to say, Coach looked good throwing that ball. Guys playing a pickup game in jeans and t-shirts are really hot. One of my favorite commercials is the Brett Favre Wrangler commercial...cute guys in jeans...playing football...getting dirty...OK, I'm getting off topic. Ummm...this was a nice all-American scene. Tossing around the football while the girls stood on the sidelines and cheered. And Saracen proved he could do it. Yay, Saracen! Think Coach would be this cool if he knew what his QB was doing with his daughter? Yeah, probably not.

"Do we have any aspirin?" LOL! I love how Tami was like, it's been a while since I've seen you throw like that. I'm sure he hates that everyone's been right lately. No wonder he's been so grumpy.

10% Julie? Are you kidding? What's 10% percent of nothing because although Saracen just proved himself on that street, there's one thing he ain't gonna do--go to the big time. Unfortunately, senior year is it for his football career. Even though this was a nice little scene, I kind of expected a hug or Saracen's arm around her shoulder. Maybe a peck on her temple? Come on...something?

Oh Tyra--you are that girl. This guy over college? He's so not worth it. I'm very disappointed.

And they make up. It's nice to see a couple work through their problems and communicate instead of shutting down and getting a divorce. This is how a marriage should be...sigh...I love the Taylors. I'm glad Coach was right this time. Finally, a victory.

And Saracen gets his chance. Julie was right--her dad's stubborn and just needed a push. Glad he finally came around.

TEXAS FOREVER! I really like their bromance. They're best friends, and I think it's sweet that they got all choked up over saying goodbye. The one thing I wish they would have done was make reference to the season one campfire convo at the lake and how different their lives turned out compared to what they planned.

Street really is an emotional mess. He always looks like he's on the verge of tears. He's like Peyton on OTH. Both their lives are crap and they're both always on the verge of an emotional breakdown. Lucky for them, they both have BFFs who are always there to support them and make them laugh.

Awww...poor Riggins. First Smash leaves you, now your BFF. It's OK. You still have Lyla and maybe Saracen can be your new BFF.

This was a nice sendoff for Street. Even though he can get on my nerves sometimes, especially when he's being all inspirational and optimistic, I will miss him. The guy did a good job portraying someone paralyzed in a wheelchair. Street's come a long way since season one, and I think it's awesome that he's turned into such a good guy. Good luck in the big city!

I can't believe there are only a few more eps left. I read a little bit about what's going on next week. Sounds great! I can't wait!
